Kick-off German-Dutch Chapter eMonday

The launch of the German-Dutch chapter of the e-mobility network eMonday will take place on 13 February 2017, during the mission to Bavaria of the cities Amsterdam and Utrecht. 'It all started in 2010 in a typical Bavarian restaurant', Robert Metzger of our partner MunichExpo recalls.

On every third Monday of the month about a hundred e-mobility experts from the Munich region meet to talk about electric mobility. The first meetings were held in Schneider Weissbräu, a typical Bavarian restaurant. 'The participants had a Bavarian dinner together, for example 'Bayrischer Schweinebraten' (roasted pork, ed.) with 'Semmelknödel', and shared their expertise', Metzger remembers the early days of eMonday.

From 2012 onwards MunichExpo - organiser of network meetings, trade fairs and publisher of ' eMove360° Magazin ' – helped to organise the meetings and managed to involve several sponsors. Metzger: 'We continued to organize the meetings on every third Monday of the month, but locations would change.

For example, meetings were hosted by nearby production locations of car manufacturers such as Nissan or the Bavarian design company EK Design , who works closely with BMW and MAN. Members very much appreciated this, because it allowed them to look around in these places and exchange ideas with the people working there.'

German-Dutch Chapter

During the visit of King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima to BMW Welt in Munich in April 2016, E-Mobility Partners and MunichExpo signed a Letter of Intent. Both parties expressed their ambition to start a German-Dutch chapter of eMonday. On 13 February 2017 the first meeting of this chapter will take place during the visit of the delegation of the Dutch cities Utrecht and Amsterdam to Bavaria.

Honouring tradition, the meeting will be held in 'Der Pschorr', a traditional Bavarian restaurant. Which doesn't mean innovation is out of the question. 'It will be the first meeting to be held in English', Metzger emphasizes the ground breaking nature of the event.

eMove360: Visitors From 57 Countries

The 'language switch' at eMonday, Metzger points out, is a result of the increasingly international context of the innovative world of electric mobility. eMove360 International Trade Fair for Mobility 4.0 , organised by MunichExpo from 17 until 19 October 2017 in Munich, hosts peoplefrom 57 countries around the world. And with 13.000 visitors eMove360 is already now the worlds biggest trade fair for electric mobility and connected and autonomous driving.

Metzger: 'Last year almost half of the 300 exhibitors came from abroad. This year, with the help of E-Mobility Partners, we expect to host an even more international e-crowd.'
